Hello everyone I just want to share some really exciting new with everyone that comes by and visits my blog. I just recently became a host for a  few swaps over on Mini Album Swaps (MAS) if you have been following my blog you will see that I have been swapping over on MAS for awhile and having a blast! Everyone is super sweet and really helpful....I could not help be get involved with the site and one of
co-owners is Merry Seavers and she has a store on the site so that members do not have to donate to keeping the site running. So using the store helps the with the cost of MAS and in turn you get some awesome deals on some really great goodies that they carry! I am currently hosting an ongoing challenge for making your own Art Journal here you will see my interpretation of this challenge...... As always happy Crafting  Suzy-Q21

A Coffee Sleeve Mini

Hello everyone I recently was in another swap on Mini Album Scraps (MAS)....the challenge was to make a Garden theme coffee sleeve or coin pocket mini I decided to do the coffee sleeves. Well it took me forever to get a coffee sleeve cause no one had any except for the Starbucks......I had to buy something though.....smile  but that's ok...... because what I did was make a coffee sleeve template on my Gypsy!(have I ever told you how much I love my Gypsy! I love my Gypsy....) This way I could make them any size I wanted to and of course I just had to made them a little bigger than the one from Starbucks! (how else was I going to fit all the stuff that I wanted put on the pages of the mini....the ones from Starbucks were just too tiny).......Well I started with the cover and this is not a actually sleeve but it's cut in the shape of a coffee sleeve....the hummingbird  you see below is colored with my copics and then I added glossy accents over that but  wait right before the glossy accents completely dried I added fine glitter...the flowers throughout the mini are either altered or made and if you look at the post before this one you can see how to make those...I had a ball making this mini even though it's my first coffee sleeve mini.....I hope my partner likes it as  much as I did having fun creating it and as always happy crafting Suzy-Q

Flowers!

Hi Everyone

Today I wanted to share how I make or should I say alter flowers that I get from the store I normally get the white ones...These flowers came from Joann.  As you see I buy them on the bush and then take them apart.  The supplies I used are in the background....... I sprayed it with color wash (butterscotch) first gave it time to dry and then added the a homemade glimmer mist(it's a pink) to it but that did not give it a glimmer at all so then I pulled out the stickles and that did it! I then inked the edges after stickles dried with my distress ink there you have it!( I only did this because I wanted a darker edge but I normally ink the edges first)  I hope that you give it a try...so much cheaper than buying the flowers in the Scrapbooking sections!   And you can make them any color you like....

Another Swap!

Hello everybody I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July.... I entered another swap this time it's for stickpins........theme was fireworks I immediately thought of red, white and blue... and that is when the fun started here are some of the materials I used. Glossy accents, Stick pins from Joann's floral section and beads that I have picked up along the way from different places.....wanted  to display the stickpins using a tag so I used this program wordle.net to make a word cloud and it so much fun, you just find a group of words to input into the box hit the create tab and there you have it a word cloud. What's a tag without a flower and I found the prefect ribbon at Hobby Lobby to make a few it also helped to anchor the stickpins! TFL and as always Happy Crafting!

Dress Forms

I wanted to try my hand at decorating dress forms ...  Yes Dress Forms and boy these little beauties are so addictive to make. I really had a blast making them :  I used the Tim Holtz die cut then I cut several pieces of chip board so that they would be sturdy afterwards I glued them all together.... I got lucky at Joann and found some really pretty cardstock that feels like fabric it was on clearance! WooHoo While I was surfing youtube.com I came across this video for making a brooch that I used for the middle of  two of the dress forms.....these are way too cool....  http://youtu.be/i9puwAsBJZM ...I had to change up a few things to made it work for me but that was not a problem love they way they turned out!....... I used tulle and lace to make the dresses and what is a dress form without a little bing and a stickpin! Hope that you enjoy what I done  TFL Happy Crafting Suzy-Q

Flowers! Flowers! and more Flowers!

I joined a swap over on minialbumscraps.ning.com to swap handmade flowers. I really enjoyed making these flowers....a lot of the supplies came from Hobby Lobby and Tuesday Morning.  Cloth flowers a my favorite ones to make and  most of these are made out of ribbon and trim that I found in the fabric section...and they are so easy to make. I really wanted to step up my game and make them a little more dimensional than I did the last time so this time I added liquid pearls, stickles, and buttons that I got from various places some are even from swaps..love swapping with fellow crafters. If you have any questions please leave a message and
I will be sure to get back to you...
